for children I find it easier to draw by just making their faces more rounded, and their features larger and rounder. Like eyes, youngins have larger round eyes.
If that girl above is suppose to be younger you might see about rounding the chin, making the cheeks just slightly more puffy. And the ear looks to be in the wrong place. She looks more like a teenager as she is now, maybe 16.
