Ravens Concept Art

Starting my stop motion final now, and I'm basing it off of The Seven Ravens fairytale with flat paper upright in 3 dimensional space. So, this is a very crude concept page representation of a scene I had to make for class.

Hey guys! sry i know it's been a while... kinda hard when your computer and camera both need therapy and i don't do computer graphics/drawing... but that's all about to change once i get my new toy up and running!

ok so i've gotten back into the glass blowing community and it feels great... if only my work would start reflecting it. So here's the first peice i've blown for a while. The shape and stuff arent' great but i wanted to test out the color (beautiful!) so now i'm either gonna keep it around as a fun candy dish, use it for design/sand blasting pratice or smash it to cut designs out of for other projects... haven't decided which yet. Dang peice jsut cut me so maybe i'm gunning for smashing it, but the drawing practice would be more beneficial. especially since i plan on learning how to acid etch pictures onto peices... anyone know how to do that btw? Jennica?

oh, yah, I've been coloring stuff too.

I just realized I don't think I've posted one single colored thing, which is funny cause I probably end up spending more time on my coloring for comic books hw than anything else.

So, here's some lineart I was assigned, and here's how I used the 'smudge' technique for rendering the girl color. First lineart I've liked too. The color pallet was assigned too. Supposedly we will get more freedom at some point :/

Feverific

So, I've been having a fun little time with a mystery disease for the last week. Missed, school behind on hw. Generally miserable. So, here's some sketches I did two days ago, while watching Bakeneko/Mononoke looking for my senior project ideas.

Windows onto Mirrors

This took me a couple of days to hash out, hence my lack of updating. I don't know why the titular phrase stuck with me, but I liked the image, so there. It's a longer piece again, actually counts as a short story.
Are you shocked? I was shocked.

Uhhh this sort of makes sense in context. I'm lying, it really doesn't. Anyways stuff for senior project. Soooo there's people making things and there are girls poking at little crabs. Yeeep... I've just been making mock ups and stuff for Nineteen + One.

Sketch of Kay

This is Kay.

Her name comes from the "Princess Kay of the Milky Way" competition in the MN state fair, because I was super homesick at the time. Yeah...

Your Cup of Tea

I have resolved, more or less, to write something every day. Most of these somethings are coming in at a page or less and aren't particularly good, but I've been posting them anyway hoping for critiques. Anyway, this story draws token inspiration from Belle & Sebastian and Sage Francis, two artists who couldn't be more different but both have songs about tea.

I failed at drawing Carys (the blonde in the lower right), but I like how the others turned out.

The Cat Came Back

I got the song stuck in my head earlier today, and I always found the song mildly disturbing anyway,so basically that's where the idea came from. I'm actually kind of happy with this piece, even if the voice could be stronger.
Oh, fair warning, it contains some violence and "strong language"

After the Thin Man

This is what happens when I go to Wikipedia and hit random until I get a workable prompt. A story with the title of a film from the mid 30's that closes with a quote from a Victorian poem ("Goblin Market" if you must know).
